Comment from Cricinfo: Interestingly enough, the star performers on the day were the men who replaced Wasim Akram and Saqlain Mushtaq - Shoaib Malik with a maiden ton and Sami with a hat-trick.

Our team is unbeleivable.....
Congrats to Shoaib Malik for his great effort at such a dangerous stage when gurus like inzi n youhana departed....n cuffy bowling 4maidens outta 5. M Sami nice hat trick earlier in his career...n on top of every one RAZZLER my man....nice battin n tight bowling 7overs 18runs 2wickets...
we need to create a good team for future rather than worrying why don't they play Wasim coz hez gonna leave in a few years or year so hezn't our future for cricket we need to give chances to youngsters to play n saqlain is good but sometimes when hez playin county n cricket board asks him to come back he doesn't....Naveed worked out in da middle....

~~Woh qatal bhi karte hein to charchaa nahi hotaa~~
Shoaib Malik's innings was a treat to watch.....He is a great find for Pakistan. His bowling is good, though he does go for runs sometimes but his main asset is his fielding. He is the best fielder in Pakistan even ahead of Imran Nazir.
For a young 20 year old who is known more as a bowling allrounder - to get a One Day International hundred against the West Indies is awesome. The Windies still have a good ODI bowling line up and this kid played the best knock of the season....He was brilliant.
He's a good ODI cricketer and if he can start giving the ball more air - then he may even be making his test debut soon.
