I was worried for bad display not for losing the match, losing makes Pakistan better!
but anyway its relief for inzi and boys as well!!! that they still can beat SL... :-)
oh haan yaad aaya ... we are definately ready for WC - 2007 ;-) :-)
^ I disagree with Akmal bit. He is good enough to play at the top. Just needs to bat the way he does in tests in pressure situations.
Premadasa stadium will not hold any tests I think. And thankfully too. Sri lankans grounds have usually been terrible though. It seems occassionally but the irritating part is that it becomes soooooo slow.
^ Excluding the hundred in West Indies over a year ago, and two hundreds recently on flat decks, Akmal hasn't even been close to 50 yet at the top.
Think about it. 3 innings of 50+ out of 22 chances. The rest are pretty much all 25 or below. Another interesting stat, 7 out of those 22 dismissals were bowled.
I am not saying he isn't good enough, God knows his technique is probably better than most batsmen in the team. But it just seems he isn't comfortable, maybe it's too much of a burden with keeping?
Oh god.....I could not believe that i missed the whole match.....I did not even know that pakistan had a match today.....it never happened to me before but i never became a father before either.........Any way,it is always good to see pak winning.... uncle razaq has again shown why he has one of the lowest batting SR in the test cricket (41.56). But he played really well on this horrible track.......good job razaq...i have to agree with saby that sri lanka has one of the worst picthes...over the years, i have seen so many low scoring macthes in sri lanka...i still recall a test match back in imran khan days which pakistan won because of tauseef's brilliance. The pitch was so slow and dreadful that it was almost impossible to bat on it. It was also a very low scoring match.....i have not see the highlights but it is good to see rana back in form (but i guess in this match, every bowler was in form)........
seriously, complaing that the "pitch" was bad was the lamest thing I heard from Inzy. I think Pakistan is **too **used to batting Pitch and this attitude needs to be addressed.
We got the win we needed.
Now regardless of the outcome of 3rd ODI we will be safely placed in the top 6 sides on April 1st. And the top 6 sides on April 1st in ICC table will automatically qualify for Champions Trophy.
A good pitch is a bowlers pitch, not a batsman pitch.
A mixed pitch works fine as well - but then it does not test the batsman ability to its full extent.
“Honestly I did not think in the morning that the pitch would play that badly,” stand-in skipper Mahela Jayawardene said.
“When we started we found it difficult, the ball was doing a lot and stopping.”

Inzamam didn’t “complain” per say. He said that “It was not a good one-day pitch. It kept very low and slow and did not come on to the bat.” His comments seem to be on par with Jayawardene’s… but Inzamam is stating the obvious. To say that the pitch was “good” would be a ridiculous statement.
If you want to know about real complainers, look east of the border at the Indian team. If Inzamam want’s to start complaining, he needs to start taking notes from them.
