Hope this is the last time Tanvir ever plays an ODI for Pakistan.Also, pretty stupid bowling changes by Misbah. Should have won this one

Tanvir and Bhatti are weak under pressure...bhatti has no exp but tanvir is uselss after 70 odd matches.....

This loss is on the captain, who failed to rotate his bowlers well. Sri Lanka did well to maintain to keep up the run rate despite losing wickets. Good going Sri Lanka. Better luck in the next game Pakistan.

A good close match. The turning point was Tanvir's 2 overs for 29 runs and overall poor bowling by Afridi.

A tight match
At 173/5 the game seemed to be in Pakistan's bag but although Sri Lanka lost wickets at regular intervals they never let the asking rate climb too high. That was the key.
Most good sides bat deep in limited overs cricket and Lanka is one of them

We batted first and we lost. I wonder what Shoaib Akhtar is saying today...bat second?
A decent batting side will always have a chance chasing under lights and dew. The ball is doing absolutely nothing for the medium pacers.

Some posters on other forums have been bashing Hafeez & Shehzad for batting too slow and wasting too many balls up front. Hafeez (SR 61.53) could have done better for sure and although Shehzad was a bit slow initially his overall SR (88.57) of almost 90 was still pretty good. Both laid the platform for Pakistan and without their solid stand, we might have struggled to cross 250.
284 was still a challenging score. *Lanka bhi aakhir khelney aaye hein!! *Even Maqsood's SR was 69.23 but I am not going to start bashing him here because it is decent for a top/middle-order batsman. Not so long ago Pakistan were struggling to post even 180-200. Atleast be happy that our batting is looking like something close to solid for a change
The bottomline is there is not much between the two sides. Pakistan could have won this game and Lanka could have won the first game.

^ This bowling is no Wasim/Waqar but Lankans lost last game to same bowling attack. Sohail Tanvir is the weak link IMO though he may bowl a good spell here and there, I would still persist with Bilawal. Not sure when Irfan can return but once he is back then Tanvir will need to be dropped.
I feel Misbah should not have come into bat, it should've been Umar Akmal or even Bilawal Bhatti to speed up scoring. Misbah slowed down scoring for quite few overs though later accelerated.

All blame goes to pathetic bowling of some of bowlers especially Sohail 19 runs in his 8th over and Afridi 40 runs in his first 5 overs 
but Ahmed Shazad and Hafeez were too slow as well …Anyway credit goes to Lankan’s batsmen …
