28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

Yet another attack in Quetta...when the security forces tried to stop the suspected vehicle...bomb went off killing 6 officials and several injured.....

When will this bloodshed stop? Karachi and Balochistan is burning and here we have Judiciary and govt busy lashing out against each other.simply pathetic!

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

Pakistani Army needs to deal with this.

Its time to use Hitler tactics to kill these animals.

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

can’t describe in words how pathetic this all is, we are truly turning into a jungle.

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

CJ wont let that happen. He wants to keep them safe so they can continue with their mayhem across the country.

Shia killings on the rise | DAWN.COM

Thursday’s execution-style killing of Shia citizens in Mansehra district and the killing of Hazaras in Quetta were only the latest incidents in what is now a clear trend: targeting innocent members of the sect — not necessarily members of any political or religious organisation — and killing them for no reason other than their religious affiliation.

**The Mansehra attack had a particularly disturbing aspect to it, with passengers made to show their identity papers and those suspected of being Shia, on the basis of their names or tribal affiliations, being picked out and killed. Like other recent sectarian killings in Balochistan, Kohistan and Orakzai, the approach used resembled ethnic cleansing in its chilling focus on identifying and killing innocent citizens simply because of their membership to a particular community.
**
**And while the Hazara community under attack in Balochistan is relatively small and powerless, the same is not true of Shia communities elsewhere in the country. If not arrested, this trend could well spiral out of control, turning the issue into a much larger conflict.
**
Meanwhile, where is the outrage from the security forces and politicians? We know these groups are willing to launch aggressive messaging campaigns when they wish to. Take, for example, the army’s response to Salala, the PML-N’s reaction to the government’s refusal to write the ‘Swiss letter’, the ruling party’s defensive posture on threats to democracy or the PTI’s campaign against drone strikes. And while it is unclear what judicial activism can achieve in such cases beyond raising their profile, where is the judiciary that otherwise takes suo moto notice of everything from the price of sugar to violence in Karachi? As each of these groups tries to focus on topics they think will boost their populist or nationalist credentials, the campaign to eradicate a minority community continues to receive less official attention than it should.

Beyond the messaging failure, little appears to have been done to confront the physical danger. Providing security escorts to pilgrims’ buses and changing the routes Shia travellers take has not been enough. Whether combating the problem is a matter of improving intelligence-gathering to prevent attacks, pre-emptively going after the groups that are carrying them out, improving policing in vulnerable areas or other intelligence or security measures, further delays are inexcusable.** The state needs to demonstrate what it is doing to combat this threat. If not, Pakistan may as well give up any pretence of being a state for anyone other than its majority religious community.**

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

"executions" are not going to happen "judicially", this will have to be done just like operation against MQM in 1990s.

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

Yeah blame everything on CJ and vote for Zardari. If CJ dies tomorrow, whom will choose as scapegoat?

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

There is takht-e-lahore, establishment, extremists and so and so forth........... everyone is guilty except the mazloom, majboor, bechari PPP.

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

are you living in 1993?

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

so did anyone from the govt/army/judicary or political parties expressed sympathy with Hazaras and condemn this brutality?
did they go to Quetta to pay their condolences? anyone got up and said we will track down these monsters?

this silence and lack of notice is simply disgusting!

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

It was a jungle back then too, but then it had improved a little bit later on, seems like that was a short lived improvement.

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

No. They all think its American conspiracy to destabilize Pakistan.

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

So should be the leadership and cadre of SM, TNFJ, ISO and the likes

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

^ Anyone who kills an innocent person for his beliefs alone, should be killed.
And since this thread is about the most recent killings of innocent people in Gilgit/Quetta, you should condemn the mufsideen who did this act.

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

This is commendable and heartening to see that the majority sunnis are trying to foil the conspiracies a few terrorists.

Babusar killings Sunnis refused to identify Shias in front of terrorists - thenews.com.pk

SKARDU: Bodies of three, out of the twenty-two who were slaughtered at Babusar, were brought from the site of the carnage to Skardu and buried amid immense sorrow and grief.

The funeral prayer, led by leading religious leader Sheikh Hasan Jafri, was attended by about 50,000 people.

In his address on the occasion, Sheikh Hasan Jafri said that this is a heinous crime committed by terrorists as no sect allows such a despicable act. He said that these terrorists are not Muslims, let alone they belong to any sect. He urged the people to follow the true spirit of Islam and remain calm and restrained.

Those buried were identified as Hamid, Qari Hanif and Shabbir Husain.

According to an eye witnesses of the horrific incident, on August 16 some buses on way from Rawalpindi to Astore were intercepted at Babusar by about 14 terrorists wearing commando uniforms and carrying walkie-talkies while dozens of their fellow terrorists stood on the nearby hills.

They ordered the passengers to step down and started enquiring about their sect.
**
Those who belonged to Shia sect were taken aside and later shot dead in cold blood.

The total killed were 22, including four Sunni Muslims, who protested and pressed the terrorists not to kill innocent Shia Muslims.

One Sajjad who luckily saved his life said that fellow Sunni passengers did a good job by saving many lives otherwise all Shias would have been brutally murdered.

The terrorists even beat Sunni passengers and forced them to help in identifying Shias so that they could kill them.

In spite of that, the Sunnis did not cooperate with them, he added.

**The same tactics were used in Kohistan in March in which a Gilgit bound bus was intercepted and 18 Shia passengers were slaughtered by terrorists wearing army uniforms.

Thirteen of those killed in the latest incident belong to Astore, three to Skardu, two to Karachi, and one to Gujar Khan in the Punjab and three to Gilgit.

**The Ulema of Gilgit, Baltistan and from all schools of thought condemned the incident and termed it a heinous crime and declared that terrorists are not Muslim, rather they are anti Muslim and anti-Islam.

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

The four sunnis who tried to have the shias in the GB incident saved (and got killed as a result) should have been highlighted more in the media, as this shows that still there is hope in the country, breath of fresh air.

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

yes they should be, when they are the ones to start the killing.

Re: 28 killed in Gilgit/Quetta

ILWIAR!

This really needs full scale investigation and rounding up of these animals!!
