25,000 civilians killed in Iraq since US invasion

Re: 25,000 civilians killed in Iraq since US invasion

Dear Fellow Guppies,

Is my thinking that using the death of even one Iraqi civilian as fodder in the debate for.... or against....coalition forces or Saddam's regime distasteful.

So much grief.

When a friend or neighbor has lost a loved one...

We try to comfort them.

We express our sorrow.

Where is our empathy?

Re: 25,000 civilians killed in Iraq since US invasion

Ok, the fight among Iraqi groups may continue, but the death toll will be much less if Americans leave.
Americans must accept the mistake and run away from Iraq, as Indians did in Shrilanka fiasco.
Or otherwise let us enjoy another show re Vietnam. America will get petrol for blood, off course.

Re: 25,000 civilians killed in Iraq since US invasion

oh only 9,250 deaths are attributed to the US...well the US must be very proud of that figure

Re: 25,000 civilians killed in Iraq since US invasion

<~~~ thinking not a single soul understood her point.

<~~~ Shouts!!! Yells!!!

Point intended was that 24,845 dead civilians were fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers.

Yet........

Ak47's topic did not generate a single remark conveying sympathy toward the Iraqi people.

Only thing generated so far ...... is.........finger-pointing.

Pointing fingers at each other doesn't help to change what has happend.

Pointing of fingers ...

do not ...

create..

favorable grounds..

for finding solutions.

Re: 25,000 civilians killed in Iraq since US invasion

AvgAmericanGirl, when did Americans mourn deaths of people of other countries?

Re: 25,000 civilians killed in Iraq since US invasion

Dear anjjan,

Americans are not heartless.

For example..

Private charities and non-profit organizations in the United States have collected more than $1.109 billion for tsunami relief, according to figures compiled by Indiana University's Center for Philanthropy.

Perhaps ^ is not example of mourning.

But is an example of caring. Of wanting to help.

Believe it or not...

On occasion I have actually given a thought toward the Iraqi people and what life would be like in their shoes.

I can only imagine.

I'm sure what I imagine isn't nearly as hard as what they face day to day.

I think about the parents trying to raise their kids. I think about the kids.

I wonder if I lived in a war zone if I would be able to find any joy or beauty in life.

And all the I's....

I wonder this...I wonder if this...

I, I, I.

<~~~Apologizes for being so selfish.

Re: 25,000 civilians killed in Iraq since US invasion

AvgAmericanGirl, showing charity and mourning are two different things.

Can you convince me what Americans are doing in Iraq?

Re: 25,000 civilians killed in Iraq since US invasion

AAG you make good point instead of contemplating the actions people are just making excuses of its only 9000 or 10000 that we killed really hmmm, its really ridicuolous that people stoop to that level it just shows all they want to do is justify there actions and the actual loss of life is insignificant to them.

Re: 25,000 civilians killed in Iraq since US invasion

Dear ak47,

Thank you.

Now I know at least one person is understanding where I am coming from.

However…

I would like to make the point that isn’t only coalition supporters guilty of being thoughtless.

The need to feel righteous, and the need to be right often drive us to thoughtlessness.

We all are guilty of such behavior…we all are only human.

Its hard to make the decision to quit finding fault and blame in others rather than ourselves…

But…

Is what IMHO is needed if we hope to find a solution to our differences.

Re: 25,000 civilians killed in Iraq since US invasion

My dear AAG, your Bush and co. is letting your soldiers die for petroland only for petrol. Do you accept this fact?
If Iraqis are being killed, he damn cares.

Re: 25,000 civilians killed in Iraq since US invasion

Dear anjjan,

You miss my point entirely.

The death of innocent people should be acknowledged anjjan.

Innocent people have died.

Their familes are grieving.

Don’t you think those people deserve recognition?

Don’t you think that their lives were more than just 1/25000?

anjiin,

It is ours to decide to care or not.

Re: 25,000 civilians killed in Iraq since US invasion

Yes, just look at how the Zionist Amercian’s are defending that terrorism.
