Thanks for the help Umer. I will be arriving at Dubai airport at 6:30 PM on Tuesday and departing for Umrah the following day at 6:30 PM. So most likely I will go out Tuesday night and rest for couple hours at the hotel and maybe a little sightseeing during noon time on Wednesday.
Is that a hotel provided by Emirates or did you book it yourself? I'm asking because I know the 2 hotels that Emirates mostly uses and could tell you what you could do in the vicinity of those hotels. If you booked your own, please let me know which one.
I wanted to visit the Jumeriah mosque on tuesday night, I have heard alot of things about it and then downtown Dubai thereafter.
Jumeirah mosque is famous mostly because of its location and the fact that they do guided tours for Non-Muslims. It is certainly a beautiful Masjid, but I didn't really find it that unique. There are many other similar ones throughout Dubai. If you end up going there on Tuesday night, you might just make it there for Taraweeh, if your incoming flight is on time, your taxi driver is quick and you don't get stuck in traffic. Otherwise you will probably be late.
Do you think it is logistically possible for me to explore the above mentioned sites in a limited time-frame of 24 hrs. What places do you suggest for me to explore during daylight.
I think most of the places you explore on Wednesday during daytime should be indoors, ie malls, etc., because it will still be very hot and humid outside.
One idea would also be to visit Dubai Museum. I've never been there myself, but my parents have when they visited us in Dubai and they were quite impressed. It's located in Bur Dubai.
During night time, what restaurants do you suggest is a good place to eat. Something not too pricy but very well known around the city for its quality of food. Apologies for being too detailed about the eating part as I am a big fan of eating out when I go to new places.
Since you will be at Jumeirah Masjid, I'd suggest you just cross the road from there and walk down Jumeirah Road to the left for approx. 400 metres. There you will find Chicken Tikka Inn (Jumeirah branch). Their food is good, you can choose whether you want to sit inside or outside (if there is space available inside) and it's reasonably priced as well.
