BBC’s frontpage website on its little ticker tape thingy is stating that “Madrid bombings claimed in name of al-Qaeda, Arabic paper says.”
Fraudz, Sensible reply as always. But i just find it weird…why do they always leave behind these little mementoes - i mean, fine you did that and you will claim responsibility for it afterwards, okay. But something just does not fit about leaving Arabic language manuals in your van… it just sounds so stupid.
the goal of the attackers is more along the lines of getting away..being stopped somewhere with arabic manuals to fly a plane or to set up an explosive device is probably not the best thing to have right?
For these guys, mission accomplished, time to get away..who cares if someone will find the tapes or manuals.
They want to cover their tracks enough that they are not caught, but they dont care if their affiliations are known.
It would be kinda funny if its a coincidence and the tapes are the latest songs by khaled and the documents some poor engineers latest project that was due tomorrow at work.
i personally think for a group of that size and that much intellect.. why would they leave a whole van behind with manuals and Quranic teachings.. neways...

UTD, True but most Muslims (or at least several) tend to have important Surahs (chapters of the Quran) memorized. i was taught to learn particular Surahs by the age of 12/13, it's memorized in your heart. You don't need to carry a Quran around you 24/7 to do that - you can recite them in your heart. Even Surahs that are upwards of 20 verses - they're not hard to memorize, it doesn't take that long. So i don't see the practicality of carrying around a Quran in your van while you are more focused upon how to carry an explosion off in a busy morning of a very busy European capital.
That's just me, i dunno. i'm thinking too much into it, i guess. i'll shut up now.
My point was that others have picked up on the story from these sources. They were the first to talk about this even before Spanish journalists which is pretty amazing for me. I didn’t know Fox, and Haaretz were better connected in Spain than El Mundo.
You guys seem to have already convicted el kayda for this. Have a look see here as well. Just giving another perspective.
at face value u can consider this as just propoganda or you could look at it as
if their devices were not functioning properly, trouble shoot, i doubt that the guys who execute the attack the the masterminds behind the manufacturing of these devices.
i would think that a terrorist who has just blown up something, would probably not liek to be caught carrying some manuals.
do terrorists really want to protect their identity, i dont mean it as in individuals, but as an organization, how many cases have there been where a group has done something and not claimed responsibility for it. actually terrorist groups who dont have anythign to do with an event stake their claim too just to show thattheir are bad-asses and need to be taken seriously.
so whether it was ETA/el-kayda or a combination is not fully known yet, but none of thepossibilities can be discounted.

Yes, that's what I said earlier as well about the BBC report.
*But US officials have told the BBC that the purported al-Qaeda claims should be treated with caution. They say it is not al-Qaeda's usual habit to claim responsibility so early and that the investigation is still in its early stages. *
saadia, if it is indeed el-kayda.. maybe what u are saying needs to be said to his supporters and closet supporters who somehow seem to think he is a champion of muslims and islam. I think teh whole darn extemists group is a cancer..we need to kill it before it kills us
People like to have these things close to them as it reminds them what they are doing these things for, a physical reminder; you leave it behind so it does not get damaged.
Feel free not to shut up, one way thinking isn’t something we want here.
And you would not want a Quaran to be damaged or destroyed in the explosions, or conflict with the police, No?
The real point is that the detonators can be matched, and there will be fingerprints etc in the van. Either AQ is becoming the whipping boy of the world, or other groups are now mimicking their tactics.
There were actually 13 bombs, 3 failed to go off. Each bomb maker has a signature, so the evidence left behind will be very valuable, and something should be known soon.
13 bombs is one heck of a lot of bombs, and would indicate a very large group involved.
Saadia this terrorist groups dont see innocent people as humans... they are mere objects that happen to be there at the wrnog time (or right time for these idiots)
