once u search, depending upon your criteria it takes a big chunk of forum's server's ability to process, (each and every time) so multiple users can bring down server's resources just by searching.. then u could write down automated scripts that can use really big searching criterias over and over with robotic speeds, eventually halting servers.
20 seconds delay, takes care of automation/attacks of this nature.
