1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Agreed his techique is quite good he just needs to rotate the strike n take singles

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

I mean look at another newbie, Shaun Marsh of Australia. He is solid + scores his runs much quicker than Azhar

Omar Khawaja had his chances but he just did not grab them or was not good enough, was painfully slow and ultra cautious like Azhar and lost his place to Shaun in the end

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

The way Azhar and Taufeeq are batting, it looks like they are trying their best to not to surpass the Srilankan score today...

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Taufeeq Umer 67 from 208 Balls SR 32.05
Azhar Ali 28 from 95 Balls SR 29.47

Are they intentionally playing for draw...

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

This is why I like Hafeez. He has this aggressive mentality. Taufiq and Azhar are too damn slow and this is why we won't get to the level of England, India, SA and Australia.

I understand the need to draft and chip away but once an opposition is down, one must have the required mentality to crush it.

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

^^ Exactly,

Had Srilanka posted 400+ runs, both Taufeeq Azhar might have been in the dressing room by now... there is time to stick around and then there is time to make some runs... they are too slow to score... their partnership runrate is 1.79 runs per over... what are they thinking???

Maybe Pakistanies are thinking, it is too hot out there, lets kill the playing spirit of Lankans..

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Ya Shaun Marsh is one hell of a find for Aussie......Even look at Trott of England

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Thats why KP is there for England........In the middle order

We need Umar Akmal ......Atleast he can play aggressively

Yeah coaches need to work on him

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Can Azhar Ali Score a 50 here...

He is currently on 34 and have played 115 balls

there are only 20 more overs to be bowled... is it possible for him to reach his fifty today?

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Taufeeq has played 221 balls :hayaa: :hayaa: :hayaa:

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

and still he is not even close to his hundred…

think about Herath… he must be furious…

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Younis is very anxious in dressing room for some reason

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

This Sort of play paired with Jayasuriya + Waqar’s attempt to do some commentary in a language still alien to them is the perfect plan to bore away the few left still cheering Test Cricket

the only life induced into this match is by Tony Greig who is doing his best to keep things/PPL awake :smack:

That’s a matter where ICC should step in … Since the ICC is based in Dubai it shouldn’t be that much of Problem to sent in some guy to investigate this almost Perfect Plan to Kill Test Cricket
