interesting turn of events, quite a lack luster performance from middle order....kimd of lost the whole advantage.....
also right now england quicks are far better than pakistan quicks....gul needs to go back to basics.
Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
Hope the tail wags
Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
yeah...if it wags another 50+ runs than that will be good....get the lead to 150 atleast...then bowl them out for around 300+...chase kt dwn and 1st one will be in the bag
Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
Pakistan have lost their edge. If we lose this match now, it'll be our own fault, Not England's brilliance. - Shoaib Akhtar

Utho jago Subah hogai :D
Although i hope we get a lead of 150+ some how and bowl them out cheaply :)
Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
Thats why i always say we need umar akmal
Only Hafeez in our test team plays at a faster run rate
Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
i k ow i was being optimistic...its ok :-)
Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
aaah Paksitan gave away all the initiative and handwork in last 5 balls. Till Misbah was there with Akmal, I was expecting lead of 175+ and now we have to settle for "whatever they can get". I hope somehow out tail drags to get 150+ lead. Anything less would be disappointing and tricky. All it needs is 12-15 runs from each of the batsmen to come.
Also Too many defensive batsmen in the line up is also hurting us. I think we can safely rotate Asad Shafiq and Umer Akmal at no 6th spot.
Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
Century opening stand thrown away. Asad Shafiq very disappointing, so is AbdulRehman. Recently he has not contributed, though he is pretty handy with the bat.

Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
Recent norm is scoring at 2.5+ RR which means around 225 runs tomorrow, +42 today = 267, plus IF they can survive 1st session on 3rd day as well then 50-80 for that... total of around 310-330, lead of around 130-140.
so they scored about 20 runs more than expected, today lead is 96. With all the specialist batsmen in the pavilion it looks difficult to post a lead of 150.
Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
^Yep, though thats the minimum we need, considering that we have to bat last.
Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
I w'd not want us to be chasing > 175 in the 4th innings
Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
Spoken like a very mature cricketer..I am happy that Hafeez has come to this stage in his career.

I'd say, not even 150
I just dont trust our batting in 4th inning....well wasiey tu kisi bhi inning main nahi liken 4th main tu bilkul bhi nahi
Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
I think we are being overly pessimistic here. Yes they may well mess it from hereon but I think at this stage despite what happened today we are firmly in control and a lead of 150 will see us through.
Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
Only Anderson moved the new ball..Other bowlers hardly made an impression. There isn't much in the wicket. I'd be surprised if England doesn't dominate the second innings.

adnan Akmal 57 not out. If only Misbah had stayed on last evening a lead of 200 would have been on the cards. still a lead of 142 at the moment.
Re: 1st Test: Pakistan v England, Dubai - Jan 17-21, 2012
Pak 338 all out
A lead of 146 runs.
Adnan out for 61.
