It looks to me that Pakistan's current team is of no match to India in at least test matches. Without Shoaib Akhtar bowling has no fire power to dismiss India twice in a test match. It will be no wonder Pakistan will be whitewashed in the series. Repeated mistakes are being made in team selection. Pakistan should go into match with specialist bowlers not the allrounders who are little there little here which is no use in test cricket. At test level a real all rounder is the one who is either specialist bowler or batsmen like Imran, Hadlee, Kapil, Botham, Wasim all were quality bowlers who can also bat well. Currently Pollock is such an all rounder. Kallis is also an all rounder who is an outstanding batsman but can also bowl well. India now have at least Pathan at this level who is a qaulity bowler and also can bat well. But if you compare with ours like Abdur Razzaq and Rana they have no speciality in either batsmanship or bowling at test level but still they are being pesisted and in this way chance is not given to the deserving players. Shahid Nazir performed exceptionally well in domestic cricket . took about 50 wickets at ~13 runs per wicket but was not slected for the series. In the name of continuity same mistakes have been made again and again.
But again the whole turning point was the Taufeeqs drop and let me tell you that you a re not a WORLD CLASS player if you drop something as easy as that. i mean what was Taufeeq expecting when he was standiing there in the slip. Was he expecting the ball to slowly float to him. i mean come on. The ball travelled directly to him and man that dropped catch must have stung the morale of the entire team. When I heard the commentator he said edged and hes out then no wait taufeeq has dropped it. That was one of the sickest feelings in the world.I knew that after that point sewag would tear us apart and boy has he ever.
I also think that maybe its a good think we have done all the stupid mistakes in the 1st test so that we can play more with ihtiaat in the next remaining test matches, and avoid doing the stupid mistakes that we did in this one.
I called Afridi up an hour ago, and he said there are rumours that Shoiab Akhtar will be playing the 2nd test match. I asked him how, and he said that there were some phonecalls going on in the other room, and that players were talkin about it. He is totally fit now, and its up to PCB to send him now, and thats what they are going to do now. But IT IS NOT CONFIRMED. He also said that he will be included in the 2nd test match, since bob spoke to him, more i cant tell at this stage.
Lets see what happens

and yes Pakistan can ofcourse win, if INDIA finishes early 2mrow and we put a good lead of atleast 200-250+ runs.

Don’t you think Pakistani bowlers are under pressure when they are bowling to Indian batting line up. Compare this, Indians bowled only 3 no balls while Pakistanis 23 so far

And sehwag couldn’t do his double hundred and tendulkar his hundred .. more to celebrate!!

Alhamdullilah - this didn’t turn out to be as bad as I had feared…
Sami and Kaneria were doing very well before I went to sleep - Kaneria esp. was frustrating all the batsmen.
So Kamal caught another one eh? good to see someone on the team who’s not only scored well but is also giving his full on the field… two catches. :k:

It was a special treat watching Sachin’s innings + all the Indian bats played some commanding shots with remote control. 
I think PCB should ‘PULL’ this team off the tour and pay BCCI in cash for all the revenue losses. Once at home this team can play “inter School” matches for game practice.

Yes Maam! You did on both counts.
Inzimam is a great Batsman , he’s an orthodox Captain who has very limited knowledge of game set and field placement.
TEST matches are a serious business in Cricket, ODI are the commercial and huge entertainment success. But both are linked to the technique and mind set and he has very limited use for it.
Young team has been selected with century old obsolete gauge. What do you expect “a miracle”? :roman::k:

Arnold Shalwar: The all rounders you mentioned were sort of "GENIUNE" all rounders not like Razzaq of these days. He is more of a ODI batsman all-rounder, not of Test calibre anymore.
I am really disappointed (surprise surprise) by our fielding (Taufeeq, Salman, Younis Khan), our keeper, they dropped so many catches, they missed to dive for catches. I thought this young lot had "fighting" spirit, but I guess that spirit has very short span of life which is only visible in ODI.
If we don't refuel our bowling (drop Sami, bring bowlers of Shabbir/Rao calibre) we'll continue to be Zimbabwe for India.

Sami did not do a bad, given the idiotic fielders he had for support. Taufiq the parchi Umer had held onto Sehwag's catch Sami would have taken three out six wickets to fall so far and perhaps Indians would have been in a lot more pressure and would not have scored all those runs.....
Before we drop Sami.....We need to drop Taufiq and his ilk, the Buttocks, the Jewhannas, the Younis Khans, the Razzaqs.... and etc.....

This perticular ‘Test Match’ is a ‘Captain’s own turkey gone rotten’ beacuse some one forgot to turn ON the oven’
Imagine he changes the 3 slips drill to a single pathetic body and a keeper - This is his attack ??? and I’m not even talking about the 'Misfits/ missed chances / and over all body language of the ‘Test players’
He does this Time after Time , because thats how far his mind can work.
