seems like even the English bowlers are biased against Karachi's players. look at what a tough time they gave Fawad Alam. I bet if the player was from Lahore, the English would have served up halwa bowling.

the ball was really turning and no player from our team stood long to Swann.. Alam was poor in handling the turn infact he had no clue about the ball.. then he was completely lost against fast bowlers too as he wanted to compensate the ball-runs average and fell over trying.. he just had to play his normal game..

I still believe he is handy in ODI and test but not for T20. Playing T 20 and failing will put additional pressure on him

I didn't see Fawad Alam's innings but from the scorecard it appears he didn't have a very good time. However, he's still a pretty handy cricketer, and he's performed quite well in other T20s and ODIs previously. There's always a need for someone who can stay on the wicket and keep the scorecard ticking, which he can do most of the times. He can also hit some mighty blows, even though he doesn't look like it because of his slight built.

We needed 150 today and I said this before the start of the english innings. 126/4 was a dismal total. Umar Akmal needs to come in before Fawad - wasted too many deliveries today and seemed clueless against spin. Afridi can bat at 3- or 4-down depending on the match situation. They also need to have a better game plan against Yardy. He was so difficult to get away today. He pushes the ball thru like Afridi
Graeme Swann must be the best spinner in the world right now. That is certainly my view.

Very disappointed with our batting today. Even with so many wickets in hand only managed a meagre total.

the solution is simple. stop whining and pretending that Fawad Alam is the next coming of Bradman... and stop saying that his exclusion is part of some massive anti-Karachi conspiracy... and I'll stop bashing this I'm a Karachiite and hence, automatically a cricket martyr thought process.
but if people make over the top statements about how great he is... then they should have the stomach to see him get criticized for performing poorly. I would never criticize a player for one performance or two. I think every junior player deserves at least a year or two before they should be criticized. but when people hype up some players and whine endlessly when they aren't picked. then expect to see that the player is brought back down to earth at some point.
and though I know you love me and hence focus on my posts... but I would advise you to read the bakwaas Mr. Sa1eem was posting in this thread about the same Karachi victimhood complex. my posts were in response to that bullsiht which I'm sick and tired of reading.

It is very childish or even may be girlish to criticize a player in one outing if he is unable to perform. Even Miandad didn't score an ODI century until after 30+ games, so if you want to bash a 'hyped' player because he didn't perform in the outing after sometime being out of team for sometime then be my guest. Feel free to stoop to any level.
My point is, we need to stop this player from that city didn't perform and it is not just directed at you but as OVERALL policy for the Cricketnama, this way even if someone wants to hype a player from Dadukhel, Mianwali aur chunnu munnu city based on ethnicity they should be barred from doing so.
