Missed the whole game yesterday because of work but after watching the H/L I have a few comments to make
Overall, bowling wasn't bad DESPITE SAMI and GUL, The batting let us down AGAIN
Chasing is our achilles heel - once again shot selection was poor and there was no game plan or method.
Batting order was not only thin and inexperienced but also wrong IMO - Umar Akmal should bat at 3 or 4 (1 or 2-down) not 6 (that is too low for my liking)
**- Too many sifarishis in this team.
**Traditionally, 80-90% of Pakistan's best cricketers come from Karachi and Lahore but this Lahore/Karachi thing is also hurting our cricket
If the chief selector is from Karachi, he feels obliged to select certain players because of this perceived bias or injustice towards them whether or not they're good enough to play for the national team! **Give me a talented player like Asad Shafiq any day but Khalid Latif, Sami and Faisal Iqbal are just not good enough to play for the country - period. **This nonsense should end
Iqbal Qasim (Karachi) is guilty of that
Mohsin Khan (Karachi) was guilty of that
Farhat's sasur, Ilyas (Lahore) was guilty of that
If all your best cricketers are from Lahore, then they deserve to be in the team
If all the deserving players are from Karachi then so be it
**Merit not quota or regional affiliation should be the sole criterion for selection
**Sami had no business in the playing XI. He was never good against left-handers and he won't ever be. He's just a waste of space
Shakeel Ansar - debuting at the ripe (by cricket standards) age of 33 says it all - seems like another sifarishi to me. Why risk a new keeper when you have Sarfraz and Adnan (both should have been selected in all three formats). The guy was a fumbling mess while keeping and soney pe suhaga they sent him up the order after a first ball wicket!
**Gross injustice being done to Hammad Azam. **He should have played ahead of Khalid Latif yesterday
Khalid Latif what a joke he is? How can you have an international batsman in your team who can't play shots on the off side?
He did the same in the T20 World Cup and he is back again. And I won't be surprised if Faisal gets picked (ahead of Hammad) in the next game because some feel there is bias towards Karachi players even though he is awful.
Hafeez: This was his first game as captain so I won't be too hard on him. Too early to judge his leadership skills after just one game
Yesterday's game was also a case in point that you do need stabilizers (Misbah, Younis, Asad etc.) in the shortest format as well. Having all hitters as your main batsmen in ODI/T20I is a recipe for disaster. Shoaib Malik is a spent force now

True but overall, bowling wasn't bad .... 1 or 2 bowlers are bound to go for runs in every game
132 was still a modest total by T20I standards
Abject and clueless batting was the main reason for the defeat. If you can't even chase 130 odd, then you won't win many games for sure
Fielding was atrocious as always. No point moaning too much about it

Sami is such a waste he didnt improved a bit
