Congrats India, great performance from the top side, they have managed to win by 4 runs in the end... all credits goes to the ground man for making such a pitch.
The indians were given a real scare by the Lankans today despite the huge run chase. That SLA managed to get so close despite facing a stiff target must be a cause for concern for indian bowlers esp. They cannot expect their batters to keep posting such high totals in every game
With 73 needed off the last 10 overs and 6 wickets in hand, SLA looked favourites then but credit to indian players for keeping their nerve esp. in the last 3 overs where they did not concede a single boundary.
Neither team deserved to lose today
The two J's Jayasuriya and Jayawardene should have done better..

Looks like a great game, people who were watching it must have enjoyed it (and probably got some heart-attacks too), a high-scoring game ends in 3-runs deficit.

Hahahahaha ...I had gone to Mysore on a business trip and was getting all updates both from my boss and from R-World.I knew we would win ,we would be able to pull the match :) :D

Good one India... what is happening to this world of cricket... oen team scores 414 and still requires one hell of fight to defend it.. must be thrilling.. to see... Congrats to all Indian team fans, including me :)

So a win for India.Its true that S.L fought hard and they deserve some applause but at the end of the day,result that matters and not who fought invain and who scored fast.

From here doesn't matter who wins, the game of cricket is the sole loser...
800+ runs and only12 wickets... if these are the standards BCCI going to adopt then lets stop playing circket and go for Gulli-Danda
I agree with you partially that such runfests are not much fun. But dont think it is only BCCI that is doing this, the whole ODI format is lopsided in favor of batting. Similar tracks are favored everywhere on the premise that thats what spectators want to see. And then you have the rules that are completely biased in favor of batsmen. Personally, I would any day pick a a low scoring cliffhanger with a tough pitch and good bowling over this kind of a game, even though it was close.

^This is subcontinent and cricket is the national fervour.To attract more crowds you need such flat pitches to get the score baord ticking and to get the crowds enjoying every bit of the match.If the pitches are like Aus or English pitches,you wont have people flowing to stadiums.So its justified.
