Abu Huraira reported: Verily the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said: Five (daily) prayers and from one Friday prayer to the (next) Friday prayer, and from Ramadhan to Ramadhan are expiatious for the (sins) committed in between (their intervals) provided one shuns the major sins.

Sahih Muslim Vol. 1, Book of Purification, Hadith 450

“Every son of Adam sins, and the best of those who sin are those who repent.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2499; classed as hasan by al-Albaani.

        A humble recommendation:

Listen to the seerah of the Prophet SAWS. It helps to understand the Quran to an extent, it increases love for the Prophet SAWS and an understanding of his life, and it makes your durood recitation more meaningful because you will then understand and appreciate why we are told to send salam upon him SAWS. You can even recite darood whilst listening to the seerah; I recommend the seerah series by Shaykh Yasir Qadhi.
Do I dare disturb the universe? In a minute there is time. For decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse.
