  • The plight of Chinese Muslims

    Can we talk about it?

When we see Rohingya, we feel the pain, start condemning it, social organizations start their work, political orgs start their drama like demonstrations etc.

Same goes for Palestine, India or other areas where Muslims are unbelievably oppressed.

But what about China? Its not today, but been happening since forever that they are very cruel with Muslims over there. The heinous crimes that dont even get a small section in any media outlet. Why so much double standard?

And now Chinese govt is sending Muslims to detention camps forcing them to change their religion and come out 'clean'. Talk about Asian 'Nazis'.

HOTAN, China ? On the edge of a desert in far western China, an imposing building sits behind a fence topped with barbed wire. Large red characters on the facade urge people to learn Chinese, study law and acquire job skills. Guards make clear that visitors are not welcome.

Inside, hundreds of ethnic Uighur Muslims spend their days in a high-pressure indoctrination program, where they are forced to listen to lectures, sing hymns praising the Chinese Communist Party and write ?self-criticism? essays, according to detainees who have been released.

The goal is to remove any devotion to Islam.

Ethnic Uighurs in vast numbers have been sent to camps as part of a campaign to remove any devotion to Islam, China?s most sweeping internment program since the Mao era.

Add Yemen to the list of oppressed Muslims, too. I wish we could do more than just talk about it...although that's definitely a start. It's frustrating that we can't adequately helps these groups because their oppressors have gone as far as blocking aid to them.

The big bad communist China. What to do about this cancer spreading from Southeast China Sea to the western corridors of Pakistan (CPEC) -- NY Times

On the flip side, Clinton, Bush and Obama in 23 years together, invaded several Muslim countries and are responsible for the killing of approx 11 Million Muslims. All that to spread democracy and protecting "our freedom and way of life". Is that not a violation of human rights and terrorism? -- Silence from NY Times

my point was about the selective sympathy from NY Times. They also need to post an article about 11 Million Muslims killed by Uncle Sam

NYtimes and all autonomous western media has said and done a lot regarding afghan/iraqi wars etc. Dont forget that when US initiated war on Iraq back in big bush era and even later, the country which had the massive demonstrations of all was nobody but -----> Amreeka.

So its very wrong to say that these media outlets have been selective.

On the other hand, how many which Pakistani outlet can we name who are making any big noises on this calamity? Ok forget media. Is molana PDS (pen .. siri) going to take a lashkar to do a dharna at Islo or asking to kickout chinese ambassador may be?

And guess which country's govt is the first one to take a bold stand on this inhumane issue

WASHINGTON ? The Trump administration is considering sanctions against Chinese senior officials and companies to punish Beijing?s detention of hundreds of thousands of ethnic Uighurs and other minority Muslims in large internment camps, according to current and former American officials.

Now waiting for more criticizing comments on how US doesnt do this or that.
The economic penalties would be one of the first times the Trump administration has taken action against China on human rights violations.

Dont have to go too far. This article is just from yesterday. You'll find probably 100s of such articles within 3 decades

After 17 years of war in Afghanistan, military and social progress are worse than American officials have admitted.
