This is what I found while researching for your question:

That is, when he advanced towards the east, conquering one country after the other, he reached a territory where the limits of the civilized world had come to an end and beyond which was the territory of barbaric people, who had no shelter at all of tents or buildings.”

That's a hard question for me to answer. I tried to find an answer though. Here!

It starts with a very wrong beginning as it say he reached to a place where from the sun rises! Now we know the earth is round and there is no such place on earth where it starts to rise.

      All fabricated stories.

In the beginning she says that he reached a place where days were as long as they are on the poles and then she says the place is darband which is by Caspian Sea near Azerbaijan.

There are two jahil parties in the world. One are jahil Mullahs and other is Jahil liberals. Quran itself didn't claim to be a book of science, Geography or history. Its a book of guidance for those who intends to take guidance from it (This is what Quran says itself).

The most important thing that we so called born and brought-up Muslims forget is Quran has a very scientific approach (Remember, I'm not saying its a book of science). Quran is the book, where the Prophet (on whom it is being revealed) is denied miracles, as for God time reached that people should accept reality on basis of reasoning and argument, without help of unbelievable acts called Mojizaat. Quran does mention the miracles, but it does not advocate such acts. Quran is the book, which forbids black magic, astrology and other superstitions.

The moral of the story is one should obtain crux of a scripture in its soul and should not waste his or others time in arguing literal meaning. What can we obtain from knowing where Dhul Qarnain reached. In fact this is the very same Surah e Kahaf, when the attitude of such time wasting people is condemned when they wanted to estimate no. of people in incident of Ashab e Kahaf.
We should care for each other more than we care for ideas, or else we will end up killing each other.

I take it more from psychological point of view.

See if someone picks a book, whether with a writer's name or something like Bible, and says I'll definitely find something which may not be properly explained or justified at this time. How in the world will he not find such things. In the end its still a book that doesnt have a voice. You have to find the answer within its content but if you are determined not to do it and have a solid intention of blaming it no matter what, then nobody can help.

So thats why its useless to even ponder on the statements or posts of such people who have only one agenda. They wont understand either way so wuts the point.

Well, well... As far as I can conclude is that you are basically here to prove that the Quran has fabricated stories (Na'aozu'billah).

Respected Sir, the 'risining' of the sun is used as a metaphor to indicate a state from where the sun apears on our horizon as the Sun doesn't actually rises or sets (in the sea), rather it rotates in its orbit and simply disappears from our horizon after a set period of time (that varies according to the season).

Now! The exact places may not be explicitly indicated so as to let find them out on our own, taking guidance from the Quran and using our intuition. And things only make sense if we look at them with an open mind.

Lastly! With all due respect sir, if you don't believe in Quran and Islam, you may leave them aside. There is a thing called respect for others' beliefs. Kindly do practice that because incidentally I happened to have a look at a couple of other threads in this section and they happened to be posted by you and those questions made me feel like you are not asking these questions to for the sake of knowledge rather with the intent of proving how wrong and contradictory our religious book is. Please don't do that, Sir.

      Behes fuzul hai,
so sb sirf apni apni bisaat aur soch k mutabiq usey bayan krte hain aur ye koshish qayamat tk jari rhegi...
Hamein is k ehkamaat aur ayaat, aik aik harf pe pura pura yaqeen aur eitbar hai, q k hamara Khaliq is k bilkul shru mein hi kehta hai
'La ray ba feeh' (Is mein koi shak nahi)...
Yehi deen hai aur isi pe hamara iman hai...

Agr kisi Muslim ko is pe zra sa b shak hai, tou usey Allah aur us k Rasool aur Jibreel pe shak hai...
I will suggest touba for this person, touba kr le is se pehle k jo din mein usi Allah ki di hui oxygen se abt 11000 litres of air saans ki shakal mein use kr rhe ho wo bnd kr de!!
