The swastika is a Sanskrit word, and has been used as a symbol in India and other ancient civilizations for centuries, including Aryans. Nazis adopted it to show their linkage to the Aryans.

nazi swastika is related more to the symbol used by friekorps in the fighting in 1917-22 against communists
