Their eyes meet
Their eyes meet. The noise of customers ordering food in the background;
teary eyes- tired or sad and she looks away- not to remember the past days of joy-
Just to see one another. “Two chicken dishes and one vegetable” someone yells,
“and a naan.” They both sneak a smile at each other to be followed by the indifference
towards one another. She looks down to fix her shirt. He talks to his curious friend.
She hopes to get tea at the counter. He stands there waiting. She chooses a life without tea
and leaves.
