Rigging had been going on since 1947, but large scale rigging was first introduced during the 1964 elections. It's good to know some people are finally acknowledging the truth, of how Quaid-e-Azam's own sister supported by almost all political parties, was deprived of her victory by rigging.

      By Our Staff Reporter
LAHORE_Chief Justice (Retd) Lahore High Court Mian Allah Nawaz has said that the presidential election between Ayub Khan and Madare Millat of 1964 was one sided and the results were fake.
He was addressing a launching ceremony of "Chiragh-e-Mehr-o-Wafa Fatima Jinnah", a book by Prof. Khalid Pervez, at Aiwan-i-Karkunan Tehrik-i-Pakistan on Saturday. Prof. Ramzan Gohar, Begum Safia Ishaq, Begum Abida Javed MNA, Prof. Dr. Parveen Khan of Islamia College Cooper Road, Begum Surraya Khurshid, Prof. Abdul Jabbar Shakir and Prof. Dr. Rafique Ahmad addressed. Shahid Rashid introduced the author and said he was author of 24 books and the book on Madare Millat was his 25th. Zahoor Hasan presented a song on Madare Millat.
Justice Allah Nawaz said that he had opportunities to meet Madare Millat before and after the 1964 elections. He quoted an incident of polling at Lodhran where a reflector was fixed to check the status of votes cast and in one polling station, out of 100 votes cast, 98 belonged to Madare Millat. This created a panic and the SHO and civil authorities stopped the polling and subjected violence on Madare Millat polling agents. Similarly a polling agent at Chishtian was also beaten mercilessly by the Police.
He said a delegation which came from East Pakistan after 1971 said that results from East Pakistan were also concocted. The Quaid and Madare Millat were the names of same ideology which mean rule of people by the people for the people but this ideology was dismantled, leading to dismantling of Pakistan. He quoted another incident during election in which a jagirdar wanted to present funds to Madare Millat but she refused saying that she was not there to gather subscriptions from jagirdars but to snatch rights for the people.
The author, Khalid Pervez expressed gratitude to the Nazria Pakistan Foundation and its President Majid Nizami for organising ceremonies on Madare Millat.
Prof. Abdul Jabbar Shakir said that Madare Millat was advisor to the Quaid and they had complete unanimity of views.
Begum Surraya Khurshid said that Madare Millat considered his personal wealth as the wealth of the nation and she exercised complete austerity in spending.
Dr. Perveen Khan said Madare Millat was against autocratic rule and we should take guidance from her personality.
Begum Abida Javed said Madare Millat was our role model and we should inform our children about the personality and thoughts of Madare Millat.
Begum Safia Ishaq said that it was unfortunate that the PML did not follow the principles practised by the Quaid and Madare Millat.
Prof. Ramzan Gohar paid tributes to the author for compiling the thoughts and practices of Madare Millat.
Dr. Rafique Ahmad said that NPF was prepared to publish any book written on Madare Millat.
He said the decision to celebrate the Year of Madare Millat has really created awareness among the people particularly in the women.

Sad...This began the downfall of Ayub Khan. I respect the man for many things but this blatant corruption was wrong indeed.

Fatima Jinnah was assassinated, says Pirzada
      From Shaiq Hussain
ISLAMABAD – In a startling revelation Senior Advisor to prime minister, Syed Sharifuddin Pirzada Monday said Madar-i-Millat Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah was assassinated, and he would disclose all the facts in this regard on August 14.
While talking to newsmen here at Madar-i-Millat Conference the renowned lawyer said Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah did not die a natural death she rather was assassinated. He said he had made up his mind to disclose all the details of the unfortunate incident on the occasion of Madar-i-Millat Conference. However, he said now he would do the same on August 14.
Some of the participants of the conference, however, wondered privately why did it take this long for Pirzada to reveal this fact about Madar-i-Millat. They also questioned his past decisions to support all military dictators, although he knew this secret since long.
On Monday, Sharifuddin Pirzada announced he would let the nation know about the hidden facts that led to the most unfortunate incident and also identify the elements that halted the investigation into the murder.
Pirzada said that Madar-i-Millat attended the wedding of the son of an important personality on July 8, 1967 and retired to her room in the night. She locked the door from inside and went to asleep after some time.
He said in the morning a servant knocked at the room door of Madar-i-Millat, however, after a long while and upon no response he informed the neighbour of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Lady Hidayatullah who reached there in no time.
After that the IGP, Karachi Commissioner and other high authorities were apprised of the situation and upon their arrival the door was broke opened, he said. “I was present on the occasion and upon entering the room saw stains of blood on bed sheet and a cut on the neck of Madar-i-Millat.
Nonetheless, the high authorities closed the file of the case by declaring that Madar-i-Millat died a natural death. He said the nephew of Madar-i-Millat, Akbar Pirbai came to Karachi from Bombay to impress upon the authorities to initiate investigation into the case but to no avail as no progress was witnessed in this regard.
About the current political crisis in the country, the eminent lawyer expressed his optimism that talks between the government and opposition would break the impasse.
In reply to another question, he said it was not mandatory for President General Pervez Musharraf to deliver address at the joint session of Parliament, and he was legally empowered to take whatever decision he deemed fit in this regard.

      Absolutely shocking!

Zakk, thanks for the info. Any more info on her assasination? Why wasn't this publicized? Why are details emerging 30+ years later?

If it was indeed true that she was assasinated, then I am sorry to say, the primary suspicion would lie towards Ayub Khan & co.

OK. Here's my question: Would you believe PM Advisor or the family friend of Miss. Jinnah?

      • Fatima Jinnah died of natural causes: Qutbuddin

ISLAMABAD: Madar-e-Millat Fatima Jinnah died of natural causes and there is no reason to suggest otherwise, says Qutbuddin Aziz, a former diplomat and close family friend of Fatima Jinnah.

He said that doctors and women, including his mother, who performed last rites, confirmed that no marks were found on the body of Fatima Jinnah, pointing to her unnatural death.

Qutbuddin Aziz was on Tuesday responding to a statement made by Sharifuddin Pirzada suggesting that the sister of Quaid-e-Azam was murdered. He said Fatima Jinnah died in the morning of July 9, 1967 and he along with his mother reached Mohatta Palace around 9 am. He said there was a red mark on the neck of Fatima Jinnah but not a cut or signs of bleeding. There were no stains of blood in the bedroom.

According to doctors, the red mark might have been caused when she slipped and fell, while calling for help, he said, adding she died around 3 am. Qutbuddin said during the day he talked to physician Colonel Jalal Shah and the then commissioner Karachi, Darbar Ali Shah, and they or anybody else never said anything unusual.
